Music is beauty in a melody. People can find something to relate to in all aspects. From the chaos of EDM, to the sultry sounds of agony and love expressed in classical music written centuries ago. Music is a language that everyone understands to a degree. It evokes feeling, and wonder. It helps people understand the world a little more. Music can help people process their emotions in ways they usually can express. It can bring people together and is a building block of community for many people.
This journal is not going to tell you how to feel about music. You may care less about the sounds of the world and stories of old portrayed through a melodic metaphor, and that’s okay. I will, however preface, this journal may not be for you.
Crowd Source is a collaborative passion piece exploring the true beauty of communities bound by music. There will not be a single genre that we focus on, but a display of art from all walks of life and all those who create.
As the crowd, our job is to support our favorite artists, bands, writers, soloists, creators and encourage their passions. With this journal we aim to get deeper insight behind our favorite songs, lyrics and melodies created by those artists we love. Community is the backbone of a scene, so we at Crowd Source, want anyone and everyone to send in submissions for art features, poetry, short stories and even questions you would like to ask your favorite artists in interviews.
To Crown The Scene, we are building a backbone, documenting the world of the underground, and helping our favorite bands and artists potentially get big. We are working to build a linked community through many local scenes across the states. Starting in the Carolinas, and branching out as we grow. You, as the reader, are the most important people in the scene, without your support, musicians, artists, writers and creators alike would have no backing besides their own passion.
